Personality, Affect, Interactions, and Risk for Suicide (PAIRS) Study
The PAIRS study has several scientific goals that largely focus on understanding the social, psychological, cognitive, and neurophysiological factors that impact risk for suicide among at-risk young adults.
We aim to identify key factors linked to suicide risk in the laboratory to better understand how suicide risk may develop in daily life.
We use a combination of behavioral tasks, neurophysiological assessment (heart, sweat, and brain reactivity), advanced technology (e.g., virtual reality), self-reports and interviews.
We hope that the information we learn from this research will help us better understand the suicidal process and develop targeted interventions for suicidal behaviors.
